Program Overview
SafeShore is the USL&H workers' compensation program backed by Signal Mutual Indemnity Association to support waterfront employers whose limited exposures do not qualify them for entry into the Association.
The Benefits of SafeShore
Full Longshore Coverage
The Keystone Longshore section provides statutory coverage across the U.S., including incidental coverage under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. Optional Workers' Compensation includes $1 million in employer's liability and can be extended to monopolistic states.
Tailored for Smaller Employers
The SafeShore program is designed for USL&H and OCSLA-subject employers who meet specific underwriting criteria and are not eligible for full Mutual membership due to their size.

Pricing
SafeShore Longshore rates are not bound by arbitrary state rate filings and surcharges. Instead, rates are determined for each risk based on its individual nature and character, experience, and history. We also have the flexibility to provide a split rating by class or composite rating on most accounts.
Most accounts have a $10,000 minimum premium to be eligible for the SafeShore Program. Vendors of Signal Mutual Members have a $5,000 minimum premium. Diving operations require a $25,000 minimum premium.
SafeShore program credits offer an opportunity for rate reductions up to 32%.
